Fuccbois: Live in Concert - Adelaide Fringe Review

Ladies, prepare your DM’s for the Fuccbois: Live in Concert for their “final performance ever”. The chav-esque British and Irish boyband parody comprising Brendan, Tyler, Brandon, and Also Brendan, played by women in drag, brings together an absolute piss-take of the mentalities and behaviours of typical fuccbois. Their stage manager, Micaela, also plays a key role during their concert.

Recreating your typical 90’s boyband fitout with baggy clothes, sell-out crowds, and international fame status, the parody creates a seemingly nostalgic-feel, much to the unfolding of utter chaotic entertainment with original songs and seductive choreography.

Written by Bridie Connell, who also stars in the show with Vidya Makan, Megan Walshe, Clara Harrison, Grace Royale, and Orya Golgowsky, it is a satirical and heartbreaking fest of fangirling, being serenaded, and then being ghosted all in one night.

It’s nothing but pure lyrical genius which has been created within each song, masterfully weaving in so many fuccboi stereotypes, emojis, and non-committal behaviours. The ever-so catchy pop tunes will have you singing along until your heart desires them all.

The b-roll and behind the scenes content between sets effortlessly portrays their sharp egos and non-committal approach to well…basically everything in life. They’re self-proclaimed feminists, but love the patriarchy.

The ever-continuous underlying tension and ego between each of the band members delivers an absolutely memorable performance from start to finish. From on-stage fights, to cameo solo performances, and seducing women in the audience, they never, ever break out of character. I’m convinced that in an alternative universe that they’ll be reborn as actual fuccbois.

Round up your gal pals for this unmissable concert of a lifetime, because this could be your last opportunity EVER to see the Fuccbois perform. It’s an endless performance of cringe-worthy and heart-swaning memories.
